Wow. It was been quite awhile since I last wrote anything.
Well, nothing much has been going on. Oh, the typicals of summer, really. Lounging about, read, swimming, and playing video games. The greenhouse is closed for the season and I really need to be looking for a new job, sigh. Been eagerly anticipating July and all the Potterness that it will bring. Nothing really stands out, my life has become a blur of nothingness, kind of. Hmm... Oh! Suppose, an interesting thing that did occur is I went camping with Aimee and Elliott, completely spur of the moment, we ended up cooking veggie burgers, sitting up and chatting, tenting it up, and then returning back home the next day, it was a nice break from things.
Andrew's birthday was also amazing, I purchased him Trauma Center: Second Opinion for the Wii, and he seems to be loving it. He also ended up getting a kitten from his parents, we went to the Humane Society to pick one out and settled on a black, long-haired kitten. He is named Simon Belmont, he is roughly 8 - 9 weeks old, we had to get him fixed before we brought him home and then he was fighting off a virus of some sort-- but he seems to be doing fine, he is friendly, a trouble maker and insists on sleeping with us every night, haha. Oh! And he loves video games, in particular Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, which I've fallen obsessed with. Simon is truly an Andrew cat :D
Tonight is orientation for OU, how exciting. I am nervous. Andrew and Garrett signed up for the same day, so we are all journeying there around 4:30 today. I am eager to register for classes, find out what OU is apparently all about and hopefully, work towards my degree that will hopefully land me a "real job".
This weekend is also Angel's wedding, am very excited. Carpooling with Aimee, hopefully we don't get lost. I think it'll be an amazing wedding and I'm sure, Angel will look beautiful. But, I feel antsy and thus, must be off.
Last Friday I turned twenty-two. The day started with working, it was rather cold and unfortunately we ended up working outside quite a bit, bleh. After work, my cousin Rachel treated me to dinner and then Andrew and I ventured to my brother's house where the party was. The party was a celebration of my birthday, Adam's (the twin), Susan's, and Dave's birthdays. The house quickly became rather crowded, the party was much larger than anticipated, but all in all I did have a fun time.
I like being twenty-two, mostly because it is an even number and I love even numbers. I hadn't gone out in quite awhile, so it was nice being able to be out, have a good time, see friends and family. I also received a few brilliant presents which I'll upload pictures of later. One of the gifts though, was season 5 of The Shield, so stressful but damn lovely.
Easter was nice as well, once again seeing family and enjoying time spent with them. Andrew and I also bought ourselves a Nintendo DS, we both pitched in half and I own by selecting the color, pink. I can't help it, the girl in me is always ready to burst out, haha.
But yeah. I am another year older, good luck year 22.
In your ultimate dream house, what does your favorite room look like?
Simple. It would be my very own office/reading room. I'd have a huge bay window, with comfortable cushions and pillows and use it as a lounging perch. Also, there would be a fancy desk--unsure of what material it'd be made of--the desk would house my computer and necessities for writing or work (school work or job related, depending what course my life is taking) and decent lighting. There would also be comfy chairs against the walls with reading lights and tabletops for my reading area, I want a few windows so I can get fresh air and maybe a door leading outside so I could easily take my reading outdoors. Yep. It'd have no television and the only music would come from the computer. I'd paint it a nice, relaxing color and probably have Andrew choose the color scheme because he is damn good at that. I would also probably allow him to use the room as well ;P
My second favorite room would be the bedroom and the only requirements? A huge bed with comfy pillows and sheets!
Well, life is going along. Hours are picking up at the Greenhouse as we need to get planting and setting up for the season, which opens near May. Semester is starting to get to the point where projects I've known about all along are becoming due and woe to me for not starting them sooner, as always. The weather has been AMAZING these past couple of days, yesterday Andrew and I went bike riding and I realized how out of shape I truly am, we also played some basketball. Spent some time with my Dad, while studying. I like going to my Dad's house to study, it's open, breezy, and just kind of nice and no distractions of a TiVo, where I just feel compelled to watch whatever it's recorded.
Tomorrow I work 9 - 5, which means I'll return probably either very sweaty and gross or muddy and wet, or perhaps both scenarios.. unsure of what the weather is calling for. Thursday is Logic where I have a test and maybe I'll see if I can go into work once my test is finished, as I'll probably finish by 10 and be awake and bored. Friday, will be 9-5 and then the weekend I should be working. Nice. I desperately need the money. Today is my day off to study.. which I am breaking for, yep.
Well... I ought to return to studying.
Laziness abound when it comes to writing in this blog. I'll blame it on life and being sick, though admittedly my illness was only a couple of days long--it still was a bother. Does anyone actually enjoy being sick?
Angel's wedding shower was nice, as wedding showers go. Most showers tend to bore me, but I still find myself wanting and liking to go to these things--maybe just the feeling of being included? Or it is the fact I am a female? I really do not know. Back to Angel though, she looked so beautiful. California really has treated her well, she had a pretty hair cut, she looked healthy, skinnier than I remember. Most importantly, she looked happy. Ecstatic. We also met her fiancee a gorgeous Brazilian by the name of Leo. He was funny, entertaining and from what I can gather, he seems like a genuinely nice boy. So, I approve not that it matters. Their wedding is in June, in Michigan. Lovely.
Other than that, nothing else has been happening. Just work and school. This weekend there will be parties that I plan on attending, though not indulging in any booze, as I have been fighting an illness of some sort. Tonight, Andrew and I are meeting my Mom up at Applebee's, ooh in a half hour. Fun.
Today is a friend's wedding shower. I feel weird calling her a friend still, we are definitely not as close as we were back in the day, but we still find ourselves randomly making phone calls and every year around Christmas when I hear "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas" I think of leaving her messages with that song playing, on repeat. It is just strange to me, more than anything, that I am at the age where becoming engaged, getting married, and popping out children isn't too far fetched for anyone I grew up with. It is an unsettling realization to me, cynically I say because I'm terrified of the people I went to high school with raising children, oh the fears of that future. Honestly, I just don't like the realization being up front that I am getting older, I am an adult, and I need to act like it. I like that information in the background, far far into it.
Well, I am sitting at my Dad's awaiting for Aimee to arrive. I probably should call Kristi as well... reconnecting with friends, fun.
At least today is a brilliantly nice looking day and warm. Andrew and I went for a short walk yesterday, maybe after the wedding shower I can get one of the girls to walk around a park with me. Spring almost feels in the air, but I do know that in a few days or a few weeks at most it'll be snowing and cold again.
Mm... I love outdoors.
Toodles.
You're trapped in a (temporarily) out of order elevator - who would you like to be trapped with?
Submitted by tbtissimus.
I am torn between choosing Stephen Colbert or Zach Braff. If I could pick both, I'd be happy. I suppose, they would be the celebrities that I would pick. Of anyone I honestly know, it would be Aimee. Mostly because we need some alone and girl time, its been awhile. Fictional characters? Oh, the list would be endless: Marlow, Sirius Black, Dumbledore, Garp, and yeah... Being stuck in an out of order elevator, how fun.
Get to go and meet my Mom for some Applebee's today, how delicious. Get to sit in the basement, study, read, and watch television for most of the day as Andrew plays WoW... Debating whom I should call, forgetting that I may have plans tonight and hopefully they do not fall through as I am bored. Tomorrow calls for a party, so activity finally.
Bleh. My life is boring, I guess.
